Late posting from our time away staying in #AshdownForest last week - we decided to have a lazy morning and a shorter walk around the forest rather than tackle the next stage of the Weald Way. We were on holiday! We`ll come back to finish the last two stages of the WW maybe when the ground is not so soggy!

#WealdWay Stage 6. From Fairwarp to East Hoathly, 10.76 miles of the wettest sloppiest muddiest walking miles we`ve ever done! Made it hard work and slow going at times to trudge through but still glorious countryside. The Oast Farm Shop in Buxted well worth a visit - it was packed because the food in the cafe is excellentė!
We loved the biblical hailstones which lasted for about 3 minutes in the late afternoon.
Note the rainbow in pic 9.
The pub in East Hoathly was shut so we had to sit outside in the cold waiting for our Uber to take us back to the start. Grumpy face! 😠

#WealdWay Stage 5. Stone Cross to Fairwarp. 10.56 miles through lots of sloppy squealchy mud which made it quite challenging. Through Ashdown Forest which was glorious on a beautiful day. Can`t seem to get away from the River Medway, but I think it`s thankfully behind us now. Planning to do more this week.

#SundayWalk to the Sea - Faversham to Whitstable. Got rail replacement bus back to Faversham at the finish driven by a Kamikaze nutter bus driver. Not the most exciting walk (Nagden and Graveney marshes were a bit dull) but nice to see both Faversham and Whitstable and the sea of course.
Don`t miss those socks, pic 2.

#SundayWalk - Harrietsham around Hollingbourne and back along bits of the North Downs Way, Pilgrims Way but mainly paths of neither. Very muddy underfoot and quite hard walking in places. Minor detour to view Jack Cade`s Hole (no, not that hole) - pic 13. Worth looking up about Jack Cade and the rebellion of 1450. Lots of myths about him including a hole near Hollingbourne where he allegedly hid from The Establishment forces (after the rebellion made him a wanted man), although its very probably not true at all.
