#SundayWalk - #WealdWay Stage 2. 12.48 miles.
Wet and soggy from start to finish. Possibly not the most interesting section of the wallk.
Had to take a detour to Yalding to get a train home. Except there was a rail replacement bus with a connecting bus at Maidstone West Station - except the connecting bus left Maidstone 30 seconds before we arrived so we just got an Uber home which was much better than waiting a hour for the next bus.

#SundayWalk it`s the Winter 25/26 Project, the #WealdWay - which is 83 miles from Gravesend to Eastbourne. Don`t let the start and finish points put you off, it`s beautiful in between!
Stage 1, Gravesend to Ryarsh. Train to downtown Gravesend and set off walking - which was actually pretty bleak walking through the arse end of Gravesend town but picked up considerably after we got to @cycloparkcharity and down through Ifield. A beautiful winter day - sunny and chilly.
It was pretty flat till we got to Luddesdown and then it undulated and was muddy and boggy underfoot which was hard going. 72 miles to go! Next week all being well it will be Ryarsh to Yalding.

#SundayWalk - something different - a circular walk around Wrotham not on the North Downs Way!
Featuring a farm that I`m going to lay claim to as my birthright and a pub that`s closed which has united the community in Stanstead (a small village in Kent not the airport) in a frenzy of righteous indignation #savetheblackhorse

Had a lovely day today meeting up with old friends from the LSE - went there 40 something years ago as a "mature" student. Middle child who is in his 2nd year there kindly met up with us and gave us a tour round. It`s kind of strange where in the intervening years the country has got more run down and shabby yet the LSE has gone from shabby and slightly dilapidated to being swish and "modern" and somewhat slightly more soulless. The reverse applies too.

#SouthWestCoastPath - bad weather again this morning so we set off at lunchtime - just went from Perrenporth to St Agnes (Tevanaunce Cove) and then back again and the weather was great - not a single drop of rain.
We went to St Agnes in 2001 after getting our car broken into and we had to borrow some camping kit from the kind lady on the campsite - so we have good memories of St Agnes.
It was great to sit outside the beach cafe with a cuppa and some flapjack watching the surfers - some of them are just so skillful flipping over and landing upright on their boards.
We are well over 1/3rd of the way there now - less that 2/3rds still to go! Hoping to get past Lands End next trip which will be significant.

#SouthWestCoastPath - Crantock Beach to Holywell Bay and back, circular walk due to bad weather in the morning. Featuring seals at Kelsey Head fighting and basking on the beach!

#SouthWestCoastPath - Constantine Bay to Watergate Bay. Beautiful and sunny until it rained and we got drenched. A sausage roll at Betty`s on Mawgan Porth saved the day!

#SouthWestCoastPath - Padstow to Constantine Bay. A bit windy at times, a few squally showers but generally very lucky with the weather.
